Singapore: Bukit Timah Hill..
This has been cobbled together for someone whom I have no idea why would be interested in it (yes, I know, it pleases you no end to be unfathomable), and for the rest of us who did clambered up BTH in the wee hours of the morning. For all others who have stumbled upon this page, welcome, I hope you enjoy it.
![]() [ Sunrise at the summit ] ![]() [ Radio Tower 1 ] Radio tower on one side of the rock. ![]() [ Your guess is as good as mine ] This picture was utterly unpremeditated. I meant to take the summit rock to show Ben we were there, and when I looked thru the camera's viewfinder... btw, that sign says, "Please do not feed the monkeys. Fine [some sum of money]" The picture is of a monkey's face and a hand proffering a banana. The bin on the left has "Keep the reserve clean" printed on it. Somewhere around is a sign that says "Army training ground. Keep out." ![]() [ Radio Tower 2 ] Radio tower on the other side of the rock. ![]() [ Some stop pavilion ] This picture was unintentionally blurred. You don't even have to squint to pretend you're at Muir Woods. No, I don't remember what that sign on the left says, but the huge one on the right is a map with the various walks marked out. ![]() [ Pleasant hill slope ] Just after about 200 metres of a 60 degree incline. This was taken on the way down. There wasn't enough light when we were on the way up. (Not to mention I was too taken up with trying not to roll back down.) ![]() [ The Visitor Centre ] The Visitor Centre at the foot of the hill, another inscribed rock with I forget what words, another visitor, and several "Do Not Do This or That" signs for which Singapore is famed. And yes, if you get caught you have to pay the fine. Our government needs the money, they don't get private donations. ![]() [ The Carpark ] This is where Singaporeans leave their cars before they go on their healthy 20-minute nature trek. ![]() [ Some Guy ] I was trying to get a picture of the start of the walk, when this guy thought it amusing to take a picture of me. He hasn't sent me the reciprocal photo, or I would have put it up. (It can't be too distressing, my camera will be hiding most of my face.)
