Heck I've written two pages (or so) so far and am still (as usual) bogged
down in that ever dreadful thing known as plot.

Whether I can keep that up or not is another thing.

ChibuUsa_Pegasus

"I look such a child still, I wonder what Pegasus thinks of me.." ChibiUsa looked away wistfully from the entwined figures of Mamoru and Usagi framed in the doorway with the moon in the night sky behind them. Sent back from the future, she of course knew that Mamoru and Usagi were destined to be together. She sighed deeply, "..but what about my future? Does Pegasus really have anything to do with it? How long will he stay with me..?"

The fragance of the chinese lemon blossoms wafted in from the garden. She breathed in deeply. Her eyes closed as the lemon scent sharply brought to her mind the feel of Pegasus' soft hair beneath her. That magical night when he carried her on his back. There was always the fresh green scent of the citrus flowers on him from the gardens he stayed in. How she loved it.. She had bent over and placed her face gently near his neck to catch the heady scent at first, and later when the rushing air chilled her, she snuggled gratefully in the warmth of his silky neck.

"Hold on tighter," he then turned to her with his smile, so sweet, yet so strong and confident. "Trust me." He smiled at her again, and she felt the corners of her mouth lift in answer to his smile. A glow began in her and she wrapped her arms and legs tighter about him. She felt his muscles beneath her and the sense of his strength became overwhelming. Her heart beat faster, her body tingling, the glow grew as flame. She was lost in the sensation and the closeness of him, their beings seemingly melted into one.

"Where is he now? Why hadn't he appeared when she'd called for him the last few times?" Her heart heavy within her, she sought the comfort of her warm bed and hid within the softness of her blanket.

"Trust me," he had said...

"I have to ask a very great, and grave, favour of you." Pegasus didn't look at ChibiUsa. The beautiful majestic creature was not his usual calm, regal self. He was tapping his left hoof on the ground, his tail twitching, his shoulders shaking nervously. He had carried ChibiUsa safely from her room whence he'd awaken her, flying through the night to the forest surrounding his castle. "Erusion's enemies have attacked. We have to keep the Golden Crystal from them or Erusion will fall into the Darkness and be forever lost." He shuffled about, his eyes still fixed on the ground before him. "I need your help, my Maiden."

"The crystal is with me. They caught me and kept me tortured and trapped for several days. It was then when I saw the light. The light of a beautiful dream. The dream that you were having. When I was exposed to that light, I was able to change into the form of Pegasus, and reach you. You are the one who is destined to save Erusion as is written in the prophecy. Will you trust me, my Maiden?"

"How can I help? I am still so small..." ChibiUsa's knees quivered, brave as she tried to be. She felt sorry too for thinking Pegasus had abandoned her when he had actually been in danger. She wanted to do everything she could, but how much can a little girl like her help? She looked anxiously at Pegasus who was still all embarassed and ill at ease. "Tell me Pegasus, what can I do? I trust you.."

Pegasus walked up to her, folding his wings about her protectively. "We are in an enchanted part of Erusion's forest. Only the keeper of the Golden Crystal and those he bring can enter here. The strength of Erusion is from the crystal, but the crystal's power weakens as the keeper weakens. If the enemy catches me again, I fear the worse. The prophecy tells of a Maiden from another world, pure and chaste as the moon herself, who will hide the Golden Crystal and shine it's light back to Erusion from her very dreams. You are that Maiden. I will give you the crystal if you let me." Pegasus who until then had been speaking quite composedly, suddenly started to whisper...

The next morning...

"ChibiUsa! WAKE UP! We're late for school AGAIN!! What's with you? You looked as though you were up all night! And WHAT'S with your hair?!! Weren't those two cones enough? How did you get that third one? And it's GOLDEN too! If you aren't careful you'll soon be taken for one of those Shibuya Ko-gals!! HRMPH!!"

"WELL!! You were the one who didn't set the alarm clock!! And talking about RIDICULOUS hairstyles, I know someone in this room with one and it isn't me!! I have a reason for mine! And I tried to get Pegasus to put it in my hair quickly because I have a test this morning!! Goodbye!! I'm off now!"
