San Francisco.. Beach, Bridge, Bay. Such beautiful weather... I think I must have shrieked John's ears off: "NO FOG!! OH GOSH!! WE CAN SEE THE BRIDGE!!! I MUST TAKE A PHOTO!!!" I took the Marina Green photo as the car was driving pass. John had wanted to stop but I wasn't that interested in a flat field, no matter how green. He did stop at several other points along Marina and Lincoln. (I really wasn't going to fall out of the car, John! Really, really! ^_^) John chose to drive back thru a highway which was very different from the one we had usually used to get to the City. Instead of built up areas, we were along a thickly forested ridge and a river could be seen below in the valley far below. (John said we should keep the windows closed. ^_^) I spent my last night in San Francisco as I did the first, having dinner with and being at the place of the most accepting people I've ever had chanced met. And I was wearing the exact same clothes too! *grin* (Right. Barbeque and jacuzzi next time I come by. I'll fix pasta and salad. Hang on to those Alan Parsons Project CDs! :) Then hardworking Lionel trundled me off to SFO and my redeye flight to Dulles. ...til we meet again. ![]() [ Belle Roux, The Cannery ] A last look at this beautiful place full of nooks and crannies. I was really glad John suggested we visit. ![]() [ Marina Green ] Long, long stretch of grass. I forgot about the wave organ, but I prefer trees anyway. ![]() [ Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headland ] One of my many pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. *grin* I don't much care to walk across it, but I'll love to go to Muir Woods again. Not to mention Sonoma... ;) ![]() [ Fort Point ] The waves were incredible. They were splashing up a good three or four metres and even sitting in the car it was like having a fire hose directed towards you. ![]() [ Looking eastwards of Fort Point ] If you put your face right up to the screen and peer very closely center right of the photo you can see the Bay Bridge. Really!! *grin* ![]() [ View of Marin County from Lincoln Boulevard ]
Peace and Quiet in the City. ![]() [ Baker Beach looking towards Lincoln Park ] The beach! I alway stand at the waters' edge and wait for the surf to wash over my feet. This time was slightly different.. The surf wasn't keen at all to wash over me, so I kept stepping up to the water's edge as it receded with each sweep, then (thank goodness John wasn't nearby) I got well and truly splashed. ^_^; (I know, you were expecting that!) ![]() [ Baker Beach, looking towards Marin, Tiburon, Angel Island ] You can see some brave people in the surf. It was the way good beer should be. Strong, bracing, ICY COLD, with a good head of foam. It's like being assaulted with tickly beer bubbles! :D Thank you John, for making time to drive me to to places where I never would have made it to on my own. No where esle to go but home.
