Anime North cosplay (2007)

Here are some cosplayers from this year's Anime North. They were all invariably good-natured and polite and I would like to thank them all for allowing me to take their picture.

I only really know a small fraction of manga and anime characters, so I cannot identify most of you properly. If you wish to provide me with the character's name please send me an email to marco@reimeika.ca. Also, if you'd like your picture removed just let me know. Comments and/or suggestions are warmly welcomed.

The Costumes

As can be seen from the pictures below, there was a great variety of colourful costumes, and sadly my limited knowledge of manga and anime really shows because I know none of the characters.

Lidia von Hellmann, Human Fighter, Matsumoto Rangiku

Ah, Ido! Finally, a face I recognize! The young woman in the middle (I don't think she was actually cosplaying a character) was just leaving a panel about kimonos while I was kicking myself for not attending. I briefly spoke with the lady in the red dress, who told me it was an original design. She mentioned being too shy to participate in the masquerade, but I thought the costume was great.

Daisuke Ido Kimono Original

Sailor senshi galore! I was fortunate enough to come across this group photoshoot, their dazzling costumes truly make an eye-catching palette.

Sailor Senshi

Sailor Senshi (contd)

Below are some close-ups of a few sailors (sadly, Sailor Moon is not my forte, my knowledge pretty much dries up after the inner planets...)

Chibi Moon Sailor Mars

The group on the left had an unfortunate weapon malfunction (of the prop-knife-run-over-by-car type), but recovered quickly enough to strike a pose. I actually took a few pictures of the ladies in the middle photograph, and in return photographed them with their own cameras (I think it's the least one can do). The couple to the right I think was very tired but was nonetheless gracious enough to allow me to take their picture on the spot.

  xxxHOLiC

The following group was amazing, and the lady with the crown I think had the most spectacular costume I saw at the con.

These "Bondage Fairies" girls were also at CN Anime 2006, although the lady in the middle now had a somewhat different costume, and no braces!

Bondage Fairies

Finally I get the famous "V" flash! Thank you! The lady in the middle was standing alone in the parking lot, so I seized the opportunity for a shot. That is a truly dignified pose, I wonder who her character is? I love the picture of the two young ladies to the right. I actually asked them who they were, and from what I gathered the character to the left is from Final Fantasy while the character in red is from a Korean video game.

I'm amazed by the sophistication of the costumes by the ladies below. I could not resist and had to ask for a close-up. Incredible!

Trinity Blood

Some picture of what appeared to be a professional cosplay group, if such thing exists. Their demeanor was that of seasoned cosplayers, and their compositions were dazzling.

Dynasty Warriors
Clover Cosplay

I thought the lady below looked astounding, it's a truly striking character, and I think her close-up is fantastic.

Cheza

I took the following pictures near the end of my stay at the con, right up to the bus stop. Although they all appeared somewhat tired they all graciously posed in good spirits to have their picture taken, thank you all!
